1973 Porsche 911 S

1973 was a fantastic year for Porsche, offering the final and greatest long nose car.  The unicorn RS and more civilian S were available to customers that desired the best Porsche had to offer.  The RS is looked upon as a fabled creature offered to the public in race trim.  In the case a racer for the street was not your cup of tea and little more posh interior was desired the S was a great next-best thing.  The S included a front splitter to offer more high speed stability while adding a welcomed more aggressive look.  The 911S offered a great power to weight ratio along with a race derived 915 transmission, losing the 901 dog-legged shift pattern in favor of a standard H.

If you are a fan of classic Porsches this particular car should excite the enthusiast/collector within you. This example has been tailored in optional silver metallic over black, proper and tasteful for the 911’s lines.  The original owner optioned that car to be enjoyed road-tripping with its factory air conditioning/sunroof as well as on his favorite twisty back road with its limited slip differential and Koni shocks. If you read the first segment you know how we feel about the RS, and this S can offer the best of all Porsche worlds as its original engine has been treated to RS specifications prior to the current caretaker's purchase about three years ago. Prior to his acquisition, the car had recently undergone a semi-restoration to the tune of about $35k, including rebuilding the original engine to RS specs, netting a claimed 210hp, and rebuilding the gearbox. Concider this a sleeper RS for less than 25% of the price.

Recently Eric Steinel and his shop have gone though this car long nose to tail servicing and freshening anything needed. This is a very nice, turn-key example that is in tip-top shape mechanically and ready to enjoy. Original complete tool kit and jack included; spare tire is missing. Offering matching numbers as verified by the Certificate of Authenticity this Porsche is a desirable classic any enthusiast/collector would appreciate whether their interests are showing or driving, or hopefully both.
