Vehicle Description

This is a rare chance to own a one-off Ferrari 400i originally from the collection of Greg Garrison and Dean Martin. Ordered new in 1984 by Greg Garrison and held in his private collection until sold as part of his estate in 2007 by Gooding and Company, along with a number of other highly collectible and one-of-one Ferraris. Most recently the car has been owned by long-time Ferrari collector and well known Hawaii nightclub owner Fred Piluso, who has shown the car at numerous Ferrari gatherings. He was personal friends with both Greg and Dean and knew their cars well.
Greg used his close relationship with Enzo Ferrari to order this one with numerous one-of-a-kind options and 412 upgrades, including cruise control, color-coded bumpers, chrome trim, electric seats, a hood scoop that was two-and-a-half times larger than standard, a double-insulated leather headliner, along with extra sound-deadening and heat-resistant panels designed specifically to cope with the conditions and heat of the desert. Notably, the car was also ordered in a custom Watermelon exterior color with Beige leather interior, and the distinctive black side stripes which was a trademark of many Garrison/Martin Ferraris.
The current owner sourced a full set of five Borrani wire wheels which are now fitted on the car. The original 5-spoke Magnesium wheels remain with the car and are also included in the sale.
This is one of a quoted 422 cars built with the 5spd manual transmission, and one of very few for sale worldwide.
The metallic Watermelon paint shows very well and truly stands out in the sunlight. Mechanically the car is in very good condition - all power options work, the A/C blows cold, and it starts, runs, and drives with zero drama. It is, as they say, well sorted. The interior is very clean and the leather is soft and supple.. Buyers are welcome and encouraged to have an independent PPI performed.
