Vehicle Description

This 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 has been with the current owner for 25 years and is finished in Astral Silver Metallic over black leather. It is powered by a 6.9L V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission and remains in stock condition. The owner acquired it about 10k miles ago in 1990, and it was used as a daily driver before the suspension accumulators required replacement. Over the past year the owner has spent $7k refurbishing the car with new suspension accumulators, a new radiator, battery, new Cooper Cobra tires, brake pads, an A/C recharge, and draining and cleaning the fuel tank.

The interior is finished in black leather with burled walnut trim and shows well in the provided photos. The front driver's seat was recently recovered with brand new leather and the other seats were cleaned and re-dyed, and the seat stuffing was replaced as needed.

All gauges are said to be functional and the six-digit odometer shows 97k miles. The air conditioning was previously converted to R134a and was recently recharged. The Becker Mexico radio is original and has been rebuilt by Becker, and a new automatic antenna was installed.

The dry-sump 6.9L M-100 V8 made 250 hp and 360 ft-lbs of torque when new and is paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission. All the fluids were recently replaced, and the car has been regularly maintained with previous work including a new flywheel, starter ring, and steering box.
