1931 Model 840 Roadster-Packard’s top of the line for 1931 and last true roadster

 

142” wheelbase, 135HP Super Eight (straight eight) motor, 4 sp synchromesh trans. Price in 1931-$4500. Approx. 140 built, 1 of approx. 12 remaining

 

This car has been owned by a collector since 1996. Full nut & bolt, body off 100% correct restoration completed around 2002 by Penn-Dutch Restorations near York, PA.

 

Packard Dark Blue body & frame, 6 perfect chrome wire wheels w/correct tires, red leather, luggage rack, twin Pilot Ray driving lights, rare ’32 factory “cosmetic upgrade kit” (V’d radiator, twin tail lights, twin outside trumpet horns, harmonic dampening bumpers, etc)

 

1st place A.A.C.A. Hershey Fall Meet 2002; other 1st place awards at Heritage Plantation, Newport, etc

 

Frame # 190655, Engine # 190674(original motor)

 

Present condition of car:

 

- small, out of sight paint bubble on left front fender

 

- green & silver engine paint showing some flaking at joints
