This rare Weissach edition Porsche is running NO RESERVE on Bring a Trailer. Auction closes Wednesday, August 7th and high bidder wins!

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1980-porsche-911sc-29/

One-owner Platinum Metallic 911 Weissach Limited Edition. This is an original example with no modifications, bought new and serviced locally, and purchased recently from the original owner. The car is free of any accidents, but it was repainted in its original color prior to being delivered to the original owner. He was actually unaware of this, but we discovered the repaint when inspecting for our purchase. It is more common than people realize to have paintwork done at the port or dealer prior to original delivery.
This is a driver-quality car in terms of overall cosmetic condition, and does show some flaws as detailed in the photos, but is a true, one-owner, low mileage example with service records and a copy of the original title issued in 1980. The original sport seats with red piping have been reupholstered and look brand new.
The car is fully serviced, having been maintained by the owner at Steinel's Autowerks for the past couple of decades. The owner did not keep the receipts, as he never intended to sell, but we procured the duplicate receipts from 2004-present from the shop. Recent service includes a gearbox rebuild, clutch replacement, valve adjustment, top-end reseal in conjuction with ARP head stud upgrade, R12 A/C service and recharge, full fluid and filter change, and more items, all detailed in the receipts available in PDF form on our website.
This car has had the important updates performed, including the airbox popoff valve, the oil-fed chain tensioners, and the ARP head studs. The car is absolutely 100% mechanically, and ready for many miles and smiles to be put on by the new owner.

The 1980 Weissach Edition was a limited run of 408 cars built to honor the Porsche Research and Development center located in Weissach, Germany. The Weissach was only sold in the US in just 2 exclusive exterior colors: Platinum Metallic or Black Metallic. They both featured indentical interiors of Doric Gray Full leather, Sport Seats, along with red carpets and piping. On the exterior they featured an early 930-style one-piece rear spoiler, front chin spoiler, forged fuchs alloys in platinum metallic and a standard power sunroof.

Advertising literature pointed out that at $32,000, the Weissach Edition package was 15-percent less than if the various components were ordered individually, but the point was moot; all 408 of this limited edition 911 sold out with more potential buyers left wanting. Essentially a Turbo minus the boost and the wide rear body work, the Weissach was powered by Porsche’s fuel-injected 3.0 L flat-6 engine driving a 5-speed manual transaxle with limited slip differential. It also offered special paint, wider wheels and tires, stiffer shocks and larger Type-930 disc brakes, a front chin spoiler and rear whale-tail spoiler, sealed-beam halogen headlamps, power remote mirrors and antenna and leather interior trim.

This is an excellent 911 SC Targa with the rare and desirable factory Sport Seats. This SC is finished in Pewter Metallic with Beige/brown interior. It is a unique color combination and a nice departure from the typical Red/black that typifies the 911s of that era. Extensive maintenance has been performed in the last few years, and we just spent about $4k at Steinel's Autowerks making sure this car is ready for the new owner. A/C blows cold, and all accessories except the radio are functioning properly. Service records since 2012 are included with the sale and can be viewed and downloaded in PDF format on our website. The car also includes the original spare tire, jack, books, stamped service booklet, and complete tool kit. This 911 is largely original apart from a newer (1985) Porsche steering wheel, a newer Blaupunkt head unit and aftermarket speakers. It still has the original 85mph speedometer and mileage is documented via the clean Carfax report. This is a great driving example that shows accurate wear for the age and mileage and is mechanically fantastic.

Check out this really clean Euro Porsche 930. Finished in classic Black/Black, this car was fully disassembled in 2013 and restored to a very high standard. The factory sport seats received green plaid inserts and the owner purchased Turbo script floormats to match. On the exterior, the car remains visually stock, except for the 17inch wheels which were rebarrelled by Lindsey Racing from the original 16 inch Fuchs. At the time of the restoration, the engine was completely disassembled and K27 964 Turbos were installed, modified 964 cams from WebCam, new Mahle pistons and cylinders, GT3 oil pump, SACHS Clutch, and a complete rebuild of the engine including a crankshaft cross-drilled for additional cooling by Armando Ayala in order to give the engine longevity. Chris Cervelli built a factory G50 gearbox for this car, which is a massive upgrade over the 4-speed and was only available from the factory in 1989. Only the best in the business worked on this car, and almost everything on the car was built with OEM parts. The build was completed by 2015, and after break-in driving and final tuning, a dyno run was done in 2017 which shows 343rwhp and 352 ft-lb of torque to the rear wheels - a massive improvement over stock. The work was done at about 105k miles and since then the car has only required routine maintenance. New tires were installed in 2017. We just serviced the car at Steinels Autowerks, a local air-cooled Porsche specialist, to ensure that it is tuned properly and ready for the new owner to enjoy.

Extensive documentation of the build is included, and a Carfax shows consistent mileage entries since the car has been in the US. The car comes with all books including the original warranty and service book which shows the car to have been built in June of 1983. The stamping on the engine matches the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, which also verifies the factory sport seats and original color. In addition to the receipts and books, the car comes with workshop manuals, tools, spare tire, and many original or spare parts.

This is a very well done build and will be a fantastic driver for somebody who wants a 930 that's been done properly. A full image gallery of the engine rebuild and restoration process is available upon request.

1985 Porsche 911 3.2 Targa - Black/Black, 5spd Manual, Fuchs Wheels, A/C. We bought this car from a local customer who has been using it as his fair weather daily driver and occasional track toy for the last 16 years. He serviced it regularly at Steinel's and it has served him well. It has a few minor quirks but is an extremely solid and tight car mechanically, and drives very well. It is best described as a driver condition car. Interior is in very good shape and the dash is tight - the only complaint on the interior is a slight dime-sized tear in the driver's seat cushion. The car was issued a salvage title in 1988, HOWEVER, somebody at some point in some DMV made an error in the box they checked, because the current title does not have a salvage brand on it, but it DOES have an 'exceeded mechanical limits' brand for the mileage, which is not possible, because it's a six-digit odometer (and both Carfax and the service records support the mileage as correct). So, that being that, the car was damaged very early on in its life, however, it drives incredibly well, shows very well, and would suit anybody for a reliable driver who wants a good Porsche. Come see it, drive it, and have it checked over by a mechanic of your choice - buy, drive, and enjoy. www.switchcars.com

1986 Porsche 3.2 911 Carrera Coupe - Paint-to-sample Metallic Gray with Leather-to-sample light Gray interior. The car is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, having received regular service and repairs over the years. The original service book is stamped with the first dealer services, and we have the original records from 1996 through present day. The car was delivered on June 29, 1985 through Auto Werks of Rockford, Illinois. It has spent its entire life in the Midwest, moving from there to Indiana, and then to Michigan, and now with us in Ohio. The exterior is a gorgeous metallic dark grey paint to sample, allegedly done to match the original owner’s Armani suit. Not only did he do the exterior, but the interior is all leather to sample to match his shoes, done in a light grey. The photo shows the original leather-to-sample spec card from the factory which is included in the paperwork. The interior leather is in overall excellent condition. The full leather interior is a bonus, but as Porschephiles well know, the leather dashboard is susceptible to shrinkage, and this one was replaced in 2004. The original one was light gray, but the owner in 2004 smartly put in a black upper dashboard, as driving a car with a light color dash in the sunlight is annoying due to the reflection. The stereo head unit and front door speakers are aftermarket pieces. The only real pick with the interior, as noted in photos, is the tear in the piping on the driver’s seat bolster. New Michelin tires were installed in 2011, and a full service was done in 2012, including new front brake pads, rotors, and calipers, a/c system recharged, new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and all fluids changed. The a/c system has been retrofitted for R134A refrigerant. The CofA verifies that this is a matching numbers car, and specifies the factory options as follows: US Emission Dunlop Tires Radio Monterey Forged Alloy Wheels Full Power Seat – Passenger’s Side Cruise Control Front and Rear Spoilers Sport Shock Absorbers Alarm System Electric Sliding Sunroof The car has a B&B exhaust system, which gives it a MUCH nicer sound over the almost-bland factory exhaust note. Included in the setup is the 12” O2 sensor kit, oil line conversion, header w/heat shield, and muffler. Stock exhaust not included. NOTE: This car with the current setup will not pass smog testing, as the cat has been removed. The car has two keys, all books, comprehensive service file dating back to 1996, complete tool kit, spare tire, and jack. www.switchcars.com

Very original 1986 Porsche 911 Coupe in Black/black now available. This Porsche has a long ownership history and a stack of service records proving it was well maintained. It is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a 5-speed manual 915 transmission that was recently refreshed. The current mileage is 91,301.

The exterior has been paint metered and has no paint work and the car has a clean Carfax. The front end has some rock chips from normal driving. The paint is in good condition with expected wear for its age. The interior is clean and in great condition. Mechanically the car is very solid and it drives well and feels very crisp and tight. The car does need some minor items addressed - the tires are older and should be replaced by age, and a couple interior switches are inoperative including the passenger window switch. The air conditioning does not currently function.

1986 Porsche 911 finished in Black with Burgundy interior and full leather seats. Excellent original condition inside and out, and sound mechanical condition. The car has the original motor and gearbox and the numbers are verified with a Certificate of Authenticity. The motor is completely dry - even after long term storage there are no leaks. The car drives incredibly well and has no immediate mechanical needs.

The rest of the car is stock and unmodified with the exception of an aftermarket radio head unit, and the interior is in exceptional condition. The dash is in perfect condition. The only two things to note on the interior is that the driver's seat at some point was reupholstered, and is a half a shade off, but the upholstery job was excellent and the leather is of the highest quality. Better than original, to be honest. The other thing to note is a slight crack in the shift knob - so it doesn't always sit tightly on the shift lever.

The paint is all original, verified with a paint gauge, with the exception of a portion of the passenger rear fender just in front of the rear wheel and some clearcoat blending into the passenger door. The car is complete with both keys, all original manuals including the service booklet which is stamped though 1996, spare tire, tool kit, jack, and digital copy of the Certificate of Authenticity. This car is a solid, strong piece with low original mileage, and it's ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.

1986 Porsche 911 Targa - Exceptionally clean, serviced, and documented example. This car was delivered new on Sep 9, 1985 to Sam Benarrosh of Bedford, Ohio. He took delivery in Germany as part of the Tourist Delivery program. The second owner purchased the car on April 11, 1990 with 15,422 miles. The car always stayed local to the southeast area of Cleveland, really never leaving a 20 mile radius of both ownership and service. In fact, the same shop who services the car now was servicing the car back in 1990, although some of the service was done at a different Porsche shop along the way. We bought the car from the fifth owner, who has owned it since 1999, and who also serviced it religiously. The car is very original albeit with some good upgrades, all of which are reversible should a future owner want to revert it. The last owner had a muffler with a dual exhaust installed, which wakes up the sound from the overly quiet stock exhaust. He also had a 911 Chips performance ECU installed, which gives the car improved acceleration in the higher RPM ranges. The stock chip is still with the car. He also purchased a whaletail rear spoiler and the front chin spoiler. The rear spoiler was installed on the factory decklid, and no paintwork was done to the decklid. We have the stock grill and it could be reverted if somebody likes the clean look better. A SONY stereo system was installed, and on the receipt it specifies that the shop is not to cut any holes, but to use the stock speaker grills. (Note - for the super picky, the passenger door speaker grill and the driver's side rear shelf speaker grill have superficial cracks, and could stand to be replaced for visual appeal). The car has service records dating back to 1989, and is all up-to-date on services, major and minor. The 30k service was performed in 1994, and the 60k service was performed in 2003. This included a valve adjustment, new ignition rotor, spark plugs PCV hose, and serpentine belts. The customer also had the rear main seal replaced at this time, as well as the gearbox refreshed with new 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear synchros. The brakes were serviced in 2008 at 68,647 miles. New pads all around, brake fluid flushed, new front rotors, front caliper dust boots. The rear rotors were machined. The front bearings were also serviced at that time. New Falken tires were installed in 2009 at just shy of 72k miles. The car was just checked over and serviced by Steinel's Autowerks, and is mechanically all there. As far as cosmetic condition, you will be hard pressed to find a nicer one. The exterior paint is largely original, with the exception of the driver's door, the LR fender, and the bumpers. Nothing meters higher than 8mil, so there is no bodywork present on the car. The paint shows very well, and we just did a full paint-correction detailing on the car to bring out the color. The rubber on the exterior is in good condition, and black, not faded. The targa top is in very good condition with a couple of very small superficial nicks, and it latches and seals properly and keeps the water out. The interior is in excellent shape, with no tears in the seats, and no cracking in the bolsters. The dash is in perfect shape with no cracks. It has obviously been loved. Again, to get REALLY picky, one of the knobs to release the seat-back to gain access to the rear seats is broken (this is a very common thing), and one of the straps holding the rear seatbacks is also broken. All power options work, all lights, A/C, radio, mirrors, windows, etc. The car is complete with the original owner's manual, warranty and maintenance booklet, tool kit, air compressor, spare tire, and jack. This is one of the finest examples you will find on the market, with a good, documented ownership and service history, and ready to go enjoy with no immediate needs and no deferred maintenance. www.switchcars.com
